ABOUT MY TROPHY BUCK
"Have you seen My Trophy Buck?"
I created My Trophy Buck for deer hunters to show off their trophy bucks! I would often find myself wandering around retail stores and looking at all the things to buy with deer on them. After a while, they all started to look the same, and I thought "if only I could put my own deer on a t-shirt, then it would turn a nice shirt into a great shirt"! I thought surely there would be other hunters that would love to have their trophy buck come to life instead of just hanging in the house on the wall. After a few pencil sketches, My Trophy Buck was born. It is the first and ONLY custom trophy deer graphics for the hunting industry.
Thirty minutes into opening morning of Georgia's 2013 firearm season, I shot my buck of a lifetime. The 10 point scored 144-3/8 with a 270 lb live weight. I knew he was nice but what I enjoyed most was the excitement it created for my buddies in Woody's Hunting Club in Montezuma Georgia. The reaction of the area's hunters who gathered at Whitt's Deer Processing in Montezuma Georgia was priceless when he weighed in at 270 pounds.
My old friend Jerry Mosley of Macon's Buckmasters created the beautiful mount. Now, my buck hangs over my bar in my basement, three hours from Woody's Hunting Club. Only a few close friends have seen him but none of my hunting buddies. Nobody really gets to see my buck unless you happen to be in my basement. I can't really show off My Trophy Buck.
I have been an artist and painter all my life but only started hunting in 1997. My grandfather was an amazing painter and hunted throughout the Adirondack Mountains in northern New York in the 1940s and 1950s. My mother was also a hunter and they would ride the train from Teaneck New Jersey to Little Rapids NY. The conductor would drop them off along the line but not at a scheduled stop. If they weren't there when the train returned from Canada a few days later, they missed their ride home. My daughter Eden has caught the hunting bug so we have four generations of hunters in our family.
I hope you have enjoyed my story and feel the passion and need to show of your trophy bucks.
